Last year, more than 60 full and part-time volunteers served 6,505 individuals who were referred to us for walk-in service, most of whom were low income and minority. This is an average of anywhere from 400 to 700 clients served monthly, over half of whom were children. Sadly, the need for our services is growing steadily, particularly with the economy still being relatively flat and given that there are about 1,850 homeless people in the city of Miami, and about 4,500 countywide. Fulfilling our mission, we are able to provide food quickly and without bureaucracy when the need is acute. We are not an ongoing source of food, but rather a one-time source of emergency food for people in need.

In addition to helping these walk-in clients, we assemble cartons of nutritious food (God's Food Boxes), which are distributed to area churches to be given to the homeless or those in an emergency need (when agencies are closed) until referral for help can be made to the appropriate agency. To reach people a different way, more than 16 churches and charities pick up bread, pastries and produce weekly from Pass It On to be distributed by feeding programs in churches or under bridges. More than 4,000 people weekly are being help through this service. Organizations must confirm their eligibility and record/maintain figures of those served.

Because we are an all volunteer organization and because we use our resources wisely, we are able to provide food to those in need at the low price of 15 1/2¢ per meal. You can help us help them by making a donation. Where else can you spend $1.00 and provide a family of 6 with a meal?
